Spooky Triplets Halloween Funny Costume

If you are in LA during Halloween, and you've kids, you MUST MUST MUST bring your kiddos to the annual Montrose Halloween Spooktacular! Held along the historical and beautiful Montrose Shopping park, stroll along the car-free street with hundreds of spooky friends, get tons of candies from friendly store owners, it a MUST-GO for us every year!

We were in cute sailor theme costume except for Daddy (who prefers to scare the kids with his bloody mask), and we had lots of fun spooking around. The night was cold but thanks to hundreds of people and brightly lit stores for warming up the air, it was not so chilly after all.

On our way home, we drop by their teacher's house (Mrs Gibney) for our last chance of treats! Thanks to her Halloween practice session earlier on during the day, the kids learn how to greet and thanks properly during trick-o-treat.

Can't wait for the next Halloween! Yipee!

Triplets Spooky Halloween Piano Recital

Triplets Spooky Halloween Piano Recital

We had a smashing great time at Fun Music School’s Annual Halloween Party, Potluck and Recital! Recital can be fun too! There is no tuxedo, grand piano or high above the stage. We were in a cosy comfy house filled with playful teachers and students instead, and this makes the trio less nervous for their first recital! We saw Stormtroopers, Ninjas, witches, angels, and even Donald Trumps!

We brought chairs and potluck dishes, the triplets wear their favorite sailor costume, and grabbed their triplets monkeys along too! Their favorite piano teacher Ms Sara came as an angel (with wings)! Thanks to her presence, the kids were not as nervous and played their nursery songs successfully! What a fun event, we can’t wait for the Christmas recital!

Triplets First Jog-A-Thon

Happy kids jogging to raise fund for the school! They started off stretching and warming up in the morning rays, then set off to run around the field. The more laps they completed within 5 min, the more $$$ they raise for the school! Woohoo! It's such a fun fun run! Yipee!!

Triplets Remember 911

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
~
I'm amazed the kids memorized and repeated the pledge after the parade.

Happy 5th Birthday!

Triplets are gonna be 5 years old next week and we had a pre-celebration in school today! We bought the yummy cuban-style chocolate cake from Porto's and the kids love them a lot! The little ones are so cute, and I can't stop laughing listening to their serious discussion on the ingredients used in the cake. One of them insisted that it's peanut butter cream and another one corrected him that it's chocolate sauce! Their kids talks are so cute!

Happy Chinese New Year in USA!

Happy Chinese New Year in USA!

To be honest, it's quite lonesome to celebrate Chinese New Year in Los Angeles. It's not a public holiday and there's no festive mood in a non-Chinese city we live in. We've no relatives here and it's pretty much like any normal ordinary mundane day. LUCKILY, FORTUNATELY, THANK GOD, there's church! We attended First United Methodist Church's Chinese New Year celebration! The kids dressed up in traditional Chinese costume, the boys look like kungfu master and Charlotte wore this cute modernized Cheong Sam dress (Qipao), LOL. (They were very excited and insisted to wear it on the next day too, haha)
So there was this huge luncheon banquet and we were delighted with the wide variety of Chinese cuisine, woohoo!! Thank God for the church, we don't feel so lonesome during Chinese new year this year. The kids got a surprise gift too, Ang Pow (red packet) from the adults! It's a red envelope containing $ for the kids - a traditional custom that we practice till this day. They were so curious and kept on asking "what's Ang Pow?" I told them it's $$ to buy toys, LOL.

Lantern Festival: Funny Lip Syncing

OMG, they seriously failed in lip syncing the Chinese song on stage! It was the Autumn Festival (中秋节) and we were having a celebration at the church. The organizer requested a performance by the kids and my trios didn't make it for the rehearsal earlier on. So you can see the boys getting bored and nearly get into a fight while their co-performers tried their best to sing. Charlotte was slightly better, she's the only one who act well throughout the shows, LOL! Oh BTW, they were wearing the traditional Chinese costume and Charlotte's dress is a modernized Qi Pao, super cute!

Little triplets and their Singaporean friends went for an old fashion Trick-or-Treat at the annual Halloween Spooktacular event in Montrose, along the historical Montrose Shopping Park! Store merchants dressed up while kids ran "door-to-door" asking for treats! There were live music, pumpkin carving demo and of course, lots of candies!!! Couldn't enjoy it more, thanks to Montrose!!

Preschool Halloween Parade

Little Triplets and their preschool friends walked around the neighborhood in their cute Halloween costumes! Ops no trick or treat early in the morning, but we had fun spotting flying ghosts on the trees, tombstones in the yards and creepy skeletons crawling out from windows AAAAHHHHHHHHH!! The little tots performed silly Halloween dance and enjoyed a fun potluck brunch, especially those colorful Halloween cupcakes and spooky cookie lollipops, nom nom nom.

Thanks to the Preschool for organizing annual Halloween parade!

We went to our favorite Asian Supermarket after our Sunday Dim Sum brunch and there was this aisle section selling lots of tiny chairs and tables. Charlotte saw them and insisted on playing with the chairs and table. I wanted to go but she carried the chair along, OMG...
